Following the decision of Bob Jones, BID CEO, to retire at Christmas 2017, there is now a fantastic opportunity for someone to lead Canterbury Connected Business Improvement District in the next phase of its development.
Established in October 2014 the BID has developed a wide programme of initiatives, marketing activity and events that have supported the growth and increasing diversity of the city. From Christmas lights and collective marketing to Ambassadors, the Medieval Pageant, award winning floral displays and MyCanterbury, the city has seen a transformation in areas the BID has taken responsibility for. The challenge now is to develop a new Business Plan to take the BID successfully through its first Renewal Ballot in February 2019 and secure a further five years of investment in Canterbury city centre.
The prospectus for the position is here so please have a look and send it on to anyone you think might be suitable to take up this important role in our city.
The application is by CV and covering letter to recruitment@canterburybid.co.uk and closes on 8th September, with interviews scheduled for mid-September and a start date of January 2018.
The BID Board recognise the strength of the existing BID team (Lisa, Lucy and Kathy) and so are prepared to consider both Full or Part Time applications; the important thing is to get the right person, with a real commitment to and understanding of the city, a great business background, creativity and imagination and most importantly, a natural communicator with the ability to represent the city centre business community with partners both in Canterbury and beyond.
