Come along and find out more about the wonderful work they do to keep our streets and community safe at night time, and chat with them about their work over a cup of tea or coffee and a large slice of cake! Zero Tolerance is a completely FREE accreditation scheme designed for licensed venues in Canterbury City Centre, to show they are trained to recognise and tackle sexual harassment and discrimination aimed at both customers and staff. Anyone frequenting a Zero Tolerance accredited venue can be reassured that staff are fully equipped with the guidelines and framework to keep them safe during their visit. The venues can also use this accreditation in their marketing, promotions and display materials. The sessions are also designed in a useful ‘train a trainer’ way. This means managers and owners of evening and night-time economy venues (or designated members of staff) can attend the training and then deliver it themselves to existing and new members of staff. Pride Canterbury is a spectacular celebration of LGBTQ+ identity for the whole family set in the heart of Canterbury. This year will celebrate the 50th anniversary since the first Pride march in Canterbury! Featuring a parade through Canterbury High Street, followed by live entertainment with food and drink in the Dane John Gardens. Join 25,000 other people to come together to celebrate diversity, equality and progress. Line-up includes pop sensations Liberty X, RuPaul's Drag Race superstars Danny Beard and Baga Chipz, Tiktok star Caity Baser plus West End stars Layton Williams and Miriam-Teak Lee. The event attracted more than 30,000 people last year, therefore to accommodate the crowds, a number of changes are being made with the event spread out over 2 days on Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11, and the festival footprint extended to areas beyond the Dane John Gardens.
