As the University moves in to its 60th year and begins a period of renewal through the development of a new Strategic Framework, the world faces many different and existential issues than in the 1960s. The threats of climate change, biodiversity loss and the inevitable consequences on populations both near and far need a clear and unequivocal University response. To signal this change, and provide a vehicle through which the University will enable change amongst the communities it serves, we will be launching an Academy for Sustainable Futures. Our keynote speaker for this event is Jane Davidson, Pro Vice-Chancellor Emeritus of University of Trinity St. David, and architect of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act (2015) in Wales. Help Canterbury Christ Church university plant more than 400 hedgerow saplings granted to them as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy Project. The hedgerow, which will attract birds and wildlife, will bound their new Verena Holmes building. Equipment will be provided. This event forms part of CCCU's Wilder Campus Jubilee project, to further enhance their campus environment.
