Canterbury’s Christmas Light Up Parade – Friday 12 November (6-7pm) Head to Canterbury city centre on Friday 12 November(6-7pm) to enjoy the launch of this year’s Christmas festivities. To encourage social distancing, a ‘Light Up Parade’ is taking place, rather than a static stage. This means you will be able to see the lights go on from anywhere on the high street. The parade will be led by the fantastic No Limits Street Band. Following them will be the Lord Mayor and his family, Marlowe Panto cast members in a fairytale horse drawn carriage, Christmas characters and lanterns. Not forgetting our hard working ‘light up’ elves that will be making sure Canterbury is sparkling as we process. The parade will warm up with Christmas songs performed by Robbie White in the Marlowe Forcourt at 5.45pm, getting everyone in the Christmas spirit. The parade will the leave fom the Marlowe Theatre at 6pm, process up the high street, Rose Lane, finishing at Rose Square. Don’t forget, while you are in town, to pop along to the fantastic Christmas Market which will be open from 10am-7pm in St Georges Street, Whitefriars and Rose Lane.
