The University of Kent's Undergraduate Open Day for the Canterbury campus will be held on November 16, 2024. The event is called "Find your future" and will take place on the Canterbury campus. Here are some things you can expect to do at the open day: Meet current students and lecturers Tour the campus and accommodation option Attend talks about fees, funding, and finance Visit the Templeman Library Learn about the student support services available
Last year Canterbury had Hornby Trains - this year we have Bagpuss! Bagpuss and his friend Gregory Bear are both paying a special visit to Canterbury this Christmas to celebrate his 50th birthday. Thanks to Hospices for Hope (supported by the Firmin Family) there will be a selection of Bagpuss collectors’ items, accompanied by gorgeous locally made Canterbury Bear teddies on display in lots of different Christmas windows around the city - but can you spot where they are? BID MEMBERS ONLY: Join us for our next BID networking event hosted at Pho restaurant located on the corner of Butchery Lane and Burgate from 12:30-2:00pm on Tuesday 19 November. Pho (pronounced ‘fuh’) is located over two floors, and serves up delicious and healthy Vietnamese street food. Late Night Christmas Markets: Both markets (Whitefriars/St Georges, plus the Cathedral Precincts market) will stay open until 8pm Park for a £1: Whitefriars' multi-story car park will cost just £1 for the whole evening - but only from 4pm onwards. Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to 'shop local' and support small businesses in their communities. On Small Business Saturday, customers across the U.K. go out and support all types of small businesses, online, in offices and in stores. Many small businesses take part in the day by hosting events and offering discounts.
A panel of creative experts, together with the Lord and Lady Mayoress and the BID team will tour the city to admire all the beautifully-decorated Christmas windows in the city centre.
