One of the most enjoyable elements of this year’s Great Stour Riverfest has been the children’s art competition.
It had the theme of the River Stour and its wildlife, and entries were welcome in three age categories. And, much like the river itself, they flowed in to an incredibly high standard!
As a result, the judging panel of Lord Mayor Cllr Jean Butcher, Lady Mayoress Di Baldock, Cabinet member Cllr Mel Dawkins, the council’s Rebecca Booth, Lucy Martin from Canterbury BID and community representatives Sian Pettman and Beverley Paton had a tough old job on their hands.
Prizes of Canterbury vouchers, boat tours and punting trips were kindly donated by the BID, Westgate Punts, Canterbury Historic Boat Tours and the Canterbury Punting Company.
